Your Card Says One Thing. Your Benefits May Say Another.

Big insurers often hand their mental health coverage to a separate company. So your card says one name, while the network that actually approves and pays for your psychiatric care goes by another. Nothing’s wrong when that happens — it’s just how these plans are built.

  • Card says UnitedHealthcare — your psychiatric benefits are usually handled by Optum
  • Card says UMR — you’re on an employer plan that uses the UnitedHealthcare network
  • Card says Oxford — Oxford is part of UnitedHealthcare
  • Card says Cigna — mental health is usually handled by Evernorth
  • Card says Anthem or Blue Cross — mental health may be handled by Carelon

We’re in network across all of them, so you don’t have to match the names yourself. Book your appointment and send us your card when you do — we’ll confirm your coverage and have your answer ready before your first visit.

Common Questions About Insurance

Do you take Florida Blue?

Not right now. We’re working toward it, and we’ll update this page the moment that changes. In the meantime, you may still have out-of-network mental health benefits worth looking into, and our self-pay option is always there. Give us a call and we’ll talk it through with you.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Usually not. Most PPO plans let you book directly with us. Some HMO plans and Tricare Prime do ask for one. If you’re not sure which you have, we can check for you.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes. Psychiatric care is an eligible expense for both.

What if my claim gets denied?

Let us know. Denials are usually a coding or eligibility issue rather than a real coverage decision, and most of them get sorted out with one phone call. You shouldn’t have to fight that on your own.

My plan isn’t on the list. Now what?

Reach out anyway. Plenty of plans include out-of-network mental health benefits, and self-pay is always an option. We’d rather tell you honestly where you stand than have you assume the answer is no.

Will I know what a visit costs before I book?

Yes. We’ll tell you what to expect before anything is scheduled. No surprise bills from us.
